Intensifying relationship quality through emotional intelligence: Novartis chooses Acte Sept
Enhancing performance through emotional intelligence: that's the aim of a training course designed for Medical Sales Representatives to improve their relationship with healthcare professionals.
Emotional intelligence in action at Acte Sept: to enhance the interpersonal skills of Novartis' teams of medical representatives, our EQ-i certified consultants - a recognized tool for diagnosing and developing EI - have designed and run an operational training course combining individualized e-learning, workshops and peer-to-peer sharing circles.
Far from being confined to managing emotions, emotional intelligence can be defined as “the ability to perceive and express emotions, to integrate them to facilitate thinking, to understand and reason with emotions, and to regulate them in oneself and in others” (Mayer & Salovey).
It's a real palette of skills for managers, executives and sales people, some of which are major levers of communication, relational agility, decision-making and management of complex situations.
For Novartis employees, who are already experts in verbal and non-verbal communication, Acte Sept proposed a dual approach to IE, integrating :
- an individual and operational dimension: a personal diagnosis of each participant's IE, debriefed by a certified coach to identify a pragmatic development objective for the course
- a collective dimension, with workshops designed specifically to reinforce the EI skills that have the greatest impact on relationship quality: self-awareness, assertiveness, empathy, flexibility and impulse control.
A program validated by the in-house project group, who say they can't wait to get started with the training...and neither can we ????
